Job Summary:
Patching Associates Acoustical Engineering (PAAE) is redefining how expertise in acoustical emissions management is applied and scaled. We blend hands-on technical work with cutting-edge digital solutions to help industries and regulators tackle complex challenges in environmental noise, emissions monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
We are looking for a Field Lead to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of acoustical emissions monitoring equipment at customer sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on fieldwork, problem-solving, and working with technology. Travel Requirements: Up to 60% travel to remote oil & gas sites within Australia.
Reports To: Technical Lead
Key Performance Indicators:
- On-time delivery
- Quality data points captured & entered in our digital platform OpenCycle (OC)
- Monitoring equipment up-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the client's field representative to organize work/field visits.
- Maintain good working relationships with field contacts.
- Plan and manage your work calendar for team visibility.
- Safely drive to project sites, collect high-quality data, validate, and upload it to company servers.
- Responsible for the usage and maintenance of equipment.
- Utilize the OC app for fieldwork and engage in platform training.
- Actively participate in OC trainings and knowledge transfer sessions with Technical Leads.
- Deliver field inspection reports as per quality standards on OC.
- Maintain safety certifications and always follow Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols.
- Document any incidents/near misses according to the current process.
- Complete timesheets and expense accounts accurately and on time.
- Conduct safety hazard assessments and inspections in the field.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for diagnosing and troubleshooting acoustical equipment issues.

- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions to minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in acoustical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or a diploma or certification in acoustical engineering technology or a related discipline would be considered an asset but not a requirement.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, must be eligible for company truck insurance policy.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Experience with using acoustical testing equipment (e.g., sound level meters, analyzers, oscilloscopes) and familiarity with acoustical measurement techniques (Sound Pressure Level (SPL) measurements, frequency analysis, reverberation time measurements) would be an asset but not a requirement.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, schematics, and diagrams is an asset.
- Prior field service or technical support experience in the acoustical emissions management, environmental engineering or related industries is preferred, but not a requirement.
- Hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of acoustical equipment and systems is an asset.
- Understanding of safety protocols, compliance requirements, and field service best practices.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to local health and safety regulations.
